Detailed directions

From Usk (suitable for all vehicles)

  1. Leave Usk on Maryport Street, which will keep the prison on your left.  Keep straight on this road, going next to the river until you go under the A449 and then start to climb.

  2. Eventually you will reach the top of the hill in Wentwood Forest, with a public

car park on your left (Cadeira Beeches).
  3. Continue for another half mile or so and we are on the left just next to three houses.  If you reach the half empty reservoir on your right you have gone too far.

From M4 junction 24 (Coldra) (suitable for cars and vans only)

  1. Take the exit from the roundabout under the M4 signposted A48 Penhow (Chepstow Road).
  2. After about 100 metres go straight over the small roundabout.
  3. Continue through Langstone, passing a petrol station on your right after one mile.
  4. After a further two miles turn left into Parc Seymour just before a pub on the right called Ego at the Groes Wen.
  5. Go through Parc Seymour and keep straight on the road at the top and the houses stop.  Take care to go straight as there are several turnings.
  6. Keep straight on this road all the way to the T junction at the end (about 2 miles).
  7. Turn right, and continue ascending, passing public car park on your left (Cadeira Beeches) at the top of the hill.
  8. Continue for another half mile or so and we are on the left just next to three houses. If you reach the half empty reservoir on your right you have gone too far.

From Severn Bridge  (suitable for all vehicles up to 15ft high)

  1. Take the old Severn Bridge and leave the M48 at junction 2 signposted Chepstow.
  2. After one mile you reach a roundabout, take the first exit signposted Caerwent (Newport Road).
  3. After two miles you reach a roundabout at the top of a hill.  Take second exit signposted Caerwent.
  4. Keep on this road and go through the 20mph zone of Caerwent, then you may notice an MOD base on the right.  Take the first right immediately after the MOD base signposted Llanfair Discoed.
  5. After a mile or so the road ends at a T junction in the village.  Turn right.
  6. Your next landmark is the half empty reservoir on your left after just over a mile.
  7. Wentwood Timber Centre is now half a mile on the right, just before three houses.
  8. If you reach the top of the hill and the Cadeira Beeches car park you have gone too far.

From M4 junction 24 (Coldra) (suitable for large commercial vehicles)

  1. Take the exit from the roundabout under the M4 signposted A48 Penhow (Chepstow Road).
  2. After 100 metres go straight over the roundabout.
  3. Continue through Langstone, passing a petrol station on your right after one mile.
  4. Continue a further 6.5 miles.  You need a left turn signposted Llanfair Discoed, but not the first one as this is unsuitable for large vehicles.
  5. After a mile or so the road ends at a T junction in the village.
  6. Turn right.
  7. Your next landmark is just after a steep climb on a bend - the half empty reservoir on your left after just over a mile.
  8. Wentwood Timber Centre is half a mile further on the right, just before three houses.
  9. If you reach the top of the hill and the Cadeira Beeches car park you have gone too far.
